You’re having a great conversation with an ideal client who may begin working with you. When the time comes to talk about the cost of the service or product you sell, you start to buckle. Before you know it, you state a price much lower than what the original investment was.

 

You discounted.

 

You also just energetically told your client that you don’t believe that they are powerful.

 

While there are places to offer an introductory rate, or partial scholarship to a program, discounting can weaken a relationship with a client right from the beginning.  

Discounting sends out the energy that you don’t believe that your clients are capable of creating the money for your service or product. If you discount, the client doesn’t have the opportunity to put their full focus into creating that money, and they no longer have space for a huge breakthrough around wealth.

When you hold to your price, without the option of discounting, the client will feel how much you believe in their power and their ability to stretch. They will create the money to work with you. Some clients may have to call in all of their resources to put together their deposits, and when they do, it’s such an accomplishment for them! You held that space for them to grow.

Asking clients to pay full price for a service also allows them to pay into their own personal “bank account,” which they can draw from later. The more money that a client invests in your service, the more willing they are to do the work, and then they will receive better results. Full-paying clients will get more out of the arrangement when they commit through their investment, while clients who pay discounted rates may not take the work seriously, and probably won’t get results.

 

Be strong with your rates. Go into the conversation knowing that your new client has all of the resources that they need. They do, and they will feel your own belief in their personal power.
