For a moment, I’d like to speak to those of you who are aspiring entrepreneurs, and in the first stages of your entrepreneurial journey.
Right now, you may be getting all of your ducks in a row for the kind of life that everyone seems to want to live. Everyone around you is cruising along. Good cars, solid relationships, healthy enough. They used to have big dreams for themselves, and maybe they still do. But now, they are stuck in “place-holder” jobs that were supposed to be temporary. They think that they’re really happy, but you are watching them settle and pack away their big dreams.
You know this because underneath your own comfortable life are desires that you haven’t fully embraced yet either. And you know what else? Those untapped desires and passions are trying to get your attention. They’re yelling at you through the stress you feel in the pit of your stomach, the grey melancholy you feel at home on dark nights, and the constant anxiety that eats up your focus and sometimes causes you to shake.
You’ve always loved people, and stood out at all of the jobs where you interacted with customers. You have the qualities of a leader, and your employers have loved that. In the jobs you’ve held, you were always given the tasks of responsibility, and you carried them out without delay. You’ve always been reliable and stable, which is why you wrestle with the thought of breaking the mold and going after what you really desire.
I want you to know that you have talent, ideas, and great potential, even if you don’t quite fully believe in yourself quite yet. You have so much more in you than what you are doing now, and deep down you know this because you’ve been fantasizing about it for years. Don’t doubt that you have the capability to step out and create your dream life and business. I know you want to see more of this beautiful world, and to bring your talents to those who need you.
Yet where you are now is getting too comfortable, and you could so easily stay in this place if you don’t make a change right now.
It’s time to gently stir things up, and to go after what you’ve always wanted. And I want you to know it’s not as hard as it seems. In fact, it’s right there waiting for you and begging for you to find it. It’s time.
