It’s true: If your audience sees you hanging out with a celebrity, or associating yourself with another well-known person or company, it’s going to increase their perception of your business. The simple association will raise your professional reputation, let you charge higher prices, and create a more compelling reason for someone to hire you. Whether you are connecting with a worldwide household name, or well-admired colleague within your particular industry, it’s worth making the connection.

I’m going to be sharing 4 ways to align your business with a celebrity in a new class on June 24th. Before that starts, here is an extra way to get connected.

Ava and Jack Canfield in Los Angeles

Ask how you can help them.

The well-known Jack Canfield often talks about how he meets thousands of people, and most of them are asking him for things, while so few are asking what they can give him. Imagine what kind of doors might open for you if you simply offer to help. It’s such a wonderful way to start what could turn into a deeper professional relationship.

You might say something like this:

~ “Are you looking for a location to speak at when you come into ___(insert your city here)___ next month? I’d be happy to connect you to a spot.”

~ “Can I help you promote your new book?”

~ “I’d really love to have the kind of success you have, and be more like you. Is there any way I can help you in the development of your next project?”

~ “I just left a 5-star review of your book on Amazon, and I wanted to personally thank you for creating such a helpful resource.”

Ava with raw food author David Wolfe

When raw food author, David Wolfe, came to present at a natural food store I used to teach classes out of, I offered to help prepare the superfood smoothies he was going to serve to the audience.

A few months ago, I asked author Elizabeth Gilbert how I could support her in the promotion for her upcoming book, Big Magic.

Now it’s time to start thinking about how you can help out a celebrity. There are a million ways. Reach out to them through social media, their website, or get in touch with their assistant. You never know what opportunities your simple offer might lead to later.
