This week, I’m visiting the home I spent part of my youth in. There is one bedroom that is designated as mine, though it serves more of a storage purpose, with a bed in the corner. It’s been a while since I’ve cleaned the room, and it’s looking a little shabby.

The door to the room was open this afternoon, and one of the cats walked in. He went to one side of the room, paused, and then sprayed urine on a huge pile of items lingering on the floor. It was the final sign. I need to clean this room.

A client and I had a conversation about dirty spaces yesterday. If you are holding onto physical items, or letting objects collect dust, there’s a good chance that your body is also stagnant. This could be physical stagnancy, like constipation, headaches, or extra body weight. This could also be energetic stagnancy. Perhaps a decision is taking forever, you’re depressed, you can’t decide about your next step in business, or you’ve come to a plateau in a relationship.

Would you like an answer to all of those problems?

Go turn your room into a temple!

Do a deep clean. Make it into an elegant space. While you’re at it, also notice the state of cleanliness that you keep your car in. Tidy up your kitchen so cooking feels more enjoyable. Organize your desk so work is pleasurable again. Get rid of color patterns that feel like chaos. The next time you travel, reduce what you pack in your suitcase and feel even lighter.

I did a deep cleaning at one point when I was feeling particularly stressed by a big decision. It took about 6 hours to tear apart the entire room and rearrange everything. I left no windowsill undusted. The decision beautifully resolved within an hour after I finished.

Let’s get things moving for you!
