At some point, you may seek out contracted work, or a full or part-time job, as a stepping stone toward something in your business. Several times, I took part-time employment to specifically fund something for my company, and you may choose to do the same.

The last job I got hired for came to me within 1 hour of asking for it.

Ava painting birdsJust 2 days after moving into the town I live in now, I walked into a pottery shop and asked if they were hiring. They interviewed me an hour later, and I was hired that day. They didn’t even ask for a resume until after I was employed, and hired me despite the fact that I was planning to leave on a trip to India for 2 months that winter. It was so easy!

Although I can’t quite explain all of the magic that brought that job to me, here are a few things I did on the path that led to being employed at this store.

1. I knew that they were looking to hire, because I had seen their job posting listed online a week before.

2. I disregarded how I had been told that it was “hard to get a job” in this particular town. There was really no choice. I had to get a job, because I was paying for my college education.

3. I asked if they were hiring. Sometimes, all it takes to unlock what you desire is to ask.

4. During the time between when I inquired about work to the time I had my interview, I got into vibrational alignment. It was a gorgeous and sunny day. I had just gone to the farmer’s market, and was blissed out while snacking on a bench in the park. I was wearing a beautiful shirt that I had just purchased in Munich, Germany, and I was glowing. It calmed all my nerves.

That afternoon, I was interviewed by both the owner and manager, and hired on the spot.

I share this story for a few reasons:

~ People ARE hiring, all the time, yet there’s quite a big widely accepted belief that no one is hiring. It’s not true. If you desire to find employment right now, you can.

~ Follow the clues and act on impulses, especially for jobs, potential clients and contracted work. Not long ago, I found out through a friend that a company I had done support work for in the past needed another person to help with some training. I emailed them right away, and they immediately connected me to a $7,000 contract.

~ If you are in a stage where you’ve just started building your business, a job to fund your training and costs can be very helpful.

~ As an entrepreneur, you may choose to always keep part-time employment, whether it’s for the social benefits, or the extra money. It’s all perfectly fine, and we know that you are up to amazing things. You don’t have to be 100% self-employed to prove that you’re a great business owner.

I still don’t exactly know why that job came to me so easily and quickly, but it did, and it felt like it was destined to happen. The store I worked in became a lovely haven for me, with friends, connections to my local city, and many fun evenings being an artist. Oh yes, that was the other thing I forgot to mention. I was paid to be an artist!
